The Light Blues produced a dramatic late comeback to overcome Hearts 2-1 at Ibrox on Sunday to make it back-to-back league wins under the new boss’ tenure.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference ahead of the Gers’ next fixture away to Dundee tomorrow evening, the defender said: “He [Clement] has given us belief and lifted our confidence a bit as a team. I wouldn't say he has made wholesale changes in what we have been doing, but like little sort of things. He will pull you to the side and have a quiet word with you, which will just give you a little boost. Individually and collectively as a team he has tried to do that and I think it has worked so far.
“It is important that we concentrate on each game that we have got. The next one is tomorrow night and we need to win that and then move on from there. If we look at the bigger picture then it is going to be harder for us to focus on what we need to do which is win every game.”
The centre-back acknowledges that Wednesday night’s fixture will be tricky with their opponents having an impressive unbeaten home record since returning to Scotland’s top flight this season.
He continued: “Preparations are going well; their home form has been good so we know it will be a difficult game. I haven't played against them before as they came up this year. I know one of the players but other than that I didn't know much about them before, so we have done the meetings and things like that.”
Davies feels the manner of their late win at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon has brought the squad closer together as they look to continue building the positive momentum under their new manager so far.
He added: “I think results like that when you are winning so late on it brings everyone together. Obviously the feeling after any late winner is brilliant, but that togetherness is the main thing that it brings and that belief that if you keep going then you can get rewards late on.
“I think that the manager said it, it is obviously not going to be straightforward the whole time. You just need to keep going and stick together, like I say moments like that brings everyone together and lifts that belief going forward.
“We have had three decent results in a row which obviously helps. The way that we won the game on Sunday helps as well. I thought Ibrox was really loud on Sunday with the winner, it is the loudest I have heard it in a while. It does feel a bit more like that connection is coming back.
“Each game is different and you face different tasks in each game. We are looking to take Sunday into Wednesday now and try get the ball rolling a bit.”
