DEREK McInnes believes Rangers can move forward with clarity and a renewed togetherness after the closing of the transfer window.
The manager welcomed 14 new additions to the squad, including deadline-day signings Kevin Kelsy and Badredine Bouanani.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Scottish Premiership meeting with Motherwell, he said: “At the outset we wanted to add experience, we targeted set positions, and we wanted wide right options, so we have managed to get a lot of what we were after.
“It is fair to say we didn't get everything we were looking for from the window, but there's no manager out there who would get everything they wanted, and we have got to be pleased that we have done so much work.
“It is important now that we knuckle down and get on with the job in hand because I think that clarity and calmness are so important for a club, but more importantly for a dressing room.
“At Rangers, I don't want to just work with players who just see what's next, and they are always looking and maybe eagerly eyeing up other opportunities. I want people who want to be here, who want to hang about the club for a period of time and want to be successful here.
“This club can provide so much opportunity, and so many good moments, and I just want us to really commit to being here and put all our focus on the club.
“We are a very young dressing room, but with that it is exciting; there is a lot of potential, but there's also a lot of learning for these young boys, and it is our job now to try and help them fulfil that potential in a Rangers shirt.
“The competition is there when you see the squad in terms of the numbers, and I think it is the strength of the squad that will help drive standards and provide that real competition.
“I don’t want the players to waste their minutes, don't see any day as a lazy day, we're not going to accept bad practice here, and you have got to make sure that every day is important and you train with motivation, you train professionally, and you train as if you are trying to get in the team on a Saturday.”
Turning his attention to Motherwell, the manager expects a difficult test at home but says it is down to his team to make it tougher.
He said: “The biggest compliment I can give Motherwell is that although they have different players, they look very similar in terms of their style and how they want to play the game.
“There has been quite a bit of change at Motherwell, but a lot of the staff are still there, and I think you can see that in how they play, and they've started much like they finished last season and good on them for that.
“We are aware of their threats and what they are trying to do, but equally they have got to try and deal with us as well, so I think it will be a tough game for us, but the intention is to make it even tougher for them.”
