DEREK McInnes has urged his players to deliver a big European performance at Ibrox tomorrow night.
Heading into Thursday’s Europa League third qualifying round second leg trailing 2-1 to Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok, Rangers have work to do to turn round the tie in order to progress.
Speaking to the media in today’s press conference, the manager wants the team to produce in front of the home faithful; he said: “It goes without saying how important it is for us to try and crank it up tomorrow. We want the pressure to be on the opposition, not ourselves.
“You saw last week in Poland, for those who were there, just how important the atmosphere was for the home team.
“It would be nothing like Rangers and Ibrox when it is at full belt so hopefully we can give the crowd something to get behind tomorrow, and it is up to us to try and give them that encouragement because they are desperate for something to get behind.
“We want to try and deliver a big performance tomorrow if we can.”
After a difficult home result in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend, the 55-year-old says it is up to the squad to pull themselves through a tough period and start producing victories.
He continued: “We would rather not go through them; we would have rather won the game on Sunday, and winning the game on Sunday doesn't mean to say everything is rosy, but at the same time I think we could all be doing with a win.
“The supporters could do with it, the players could do with it, and I think there is nothing better than to get a dose of encouragement and a dose of confidence into the support by getting a win.
“Obviously we have got work to do; I think the tie is finely poised.

“I thought we were decent in Poland for long spells, but we have got to understand that, as I said last week, I thought we played a part in our own downfall with the goals we lost.
“If we can tighten up at that side of it, I feel as though we have got the game in us and the performance in us to get through the tie.
“If we can get through the tie, then obviously everybody starts to feel a bit better about themselves, but that is the plan.
“It is my and the players’ jobs to keep ourselves going and positive, and there are a lot of new signings in the building, and there are a lot of players training and playing with motivation as they should do at Rangers.
“Hopefully we can get the result tomorrow night, which would help.”
McInnes highlighted what he feels will be key for his players to do in order to complete the comeback.
He added: “I think we certainly need to get more bodies in the box at times.
“We had a video this morning, and we went through some of the clips from the game last week and certain things we need to commit to doing, and I think we need to play with a bit more risk with our play; we need to be less safe.
“I thought we were a bit too safe for my liking, and try force the issue a wee bit more and play with a bit more tempo.
“I thought our tempo of the game was far better in the second half in terms of our movement off the ball and movement with the ball, and we created a number of opportunities.
“If we can get something similar from the outset, that would be great, but we have also got to make sure that our counter-press is good, our defending is good when we are attacking, and make sure that we are all on point.
“They have got players that can make the difference for them, and we have just got to make sure that their influence on the game is less than it was, particularly in the first half.”
