The Gers fell to a narrow defeat in Valencia, yet it was a tale of two halves as Jo Potter’s side dominated the second half.
Speaking to RangersTV after the clash, the Gers captain commented: “Levante are a good team in Spain.
“If we can show up to the level that we did in the second half for the rest of the season, we feel we can beat anyone we come up against
“We were excellent in the second half and, although we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, the confidence we can take from the second half was excellent.
“We felt at half-time that we were a bit off it and we gave them too much respect in the middle of the park.
“But we made some tweaks at half-time and made sure we turned up in the second half.
“Credit to the girls because I felt it was a completely different second half.
“Jo’s message was that we needed to get much closer to them and be more aggressive in our press.
“We’ve been working on our press all week so it was nice to correct it in the second half.”
The fixture marked the final pre-season outing for the Light Blues after a week of intense work in Spain.
And it tees the Gers up nicely for next weekend’s league opener away to Aberdeen.
Docherty added: “To get out here on the pitch, there’s so much time to work on the finer details and get some analysis in.
“It was an excellent camp this week and I hope the rest of the girls enjoyed it because I certainly have.
“We have things to build on and there’s work to be done, but it was definitely a good test today.
“I can’t wait for the season to start. It feels like a really short summer, but we want to bounce back as quick as we can after losing the league last season.
“We want to be straight into the season and get the games going.”
