The Women’s and Girls Managing Director, who took up the role in January this year, has settled into his new surroundings and been part of the continued progression of the Women’s programme at the club.
Speaking to RangersTV as he looks ahead to the new campaign, he feels there is a feeling in the squad that they can build on what they achieved last year.
He said: “Confidence doesn't really come into it. I am definitely excited to see what we can do but from a confidence perspective, the humbleness of this group as much as their driven ambition is massive.
“They don't take anything for granted and so when they are going into play games whether it is at the top or bottom of the league, they are going in with the sole focus on what their tasks are and what the job is at that particular point in time.
“Nobody is looking ahead, we have had a great run of success in the Sky Sports Cup, we have had three years of fighting for the league title.
“We are going into the Champions League again this year and I think they are just absolutely focused on what it is they have got to do within each of those pieces.
“There is a confidence that we have got a squad that are more than capable of doing some really special things this year.
“I am definitely excited to be able to sit in the stand and see what they are going to do.”
The former Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club Technical Director spoke of the current pre-season programme with the players returning to training recently and says they will be prepared for when the campaign begins on August 11.
He continued: “It is absolutely vital that they come back in a place where they are physically and emotionally ready to perform at the highest level.
“The end of the season was great, we finished on a fantastic high at the Scottish Cup final. I think Nic [Docherty] said at the time, I am ready to come back.
“I am glad that they have got that rest but at the same time that is the mentality that they have.
“They want to get after it, see if you said the league was starting tomorrow I don't think our sports scientists would be too happy with it but they would be good to go.
“I think they have added an energy, the staff are incredibly focused on what they want to achieve culturally from an output perspective too.
“Pre-season has been good so far, we have got a couple of events coming up, we'll be away and when we come back we'll be more than ready to go.”
