It’s a return to Hampden for Philippe Clement’s squad as they aim to round off the 2023/24 campaign with a second piece of silverware.
Sitting down exclusively with RangersTV ahead of the match, Sterling said: “Hopefully it's going to be a special week, we are disappointed about the league but we want to try and make amends in this cup final and put everything into it.
“We have to control our emotions, because obviously it is still a derby game, but we have to keep our emotions in check, stay composed and hopefully get the job done.
“In training, everyone has been focused and it has really stepped up another gear this week so hopefully we can show that on the pitch.”
Lifting his first senior trophy with Rangers back in December, the 24-year-old hopes he can create more special memories tomorrow afternoon.
He continued: “When you get the opportunity to play in a final you want to do everything you can to win. You don’t want to be coming out with a silver medal.
“We have had the experience earlier in the season winning the League Cup and hopefully that experience can help us in this one as well.
“That week was a good week for me personally because we had Betis away, obviously we won that, I came on and played and then started in the final and kept my shirt. The gaffer had his trust in me as well, so it was really good. Also celebrating with the fans, that was the first time I have experienced something like that so it was great and hopefully we can do it again.
The former Chelsea youth has played across the pitch for Rangers this campaign, everywhere from his familiar defensive roles to even on the wing. On the challenges that come with that, Sterling says he always approaches with the right attitude as he looks to build on his first season in Glasgow.
“Some games have been challenging, but you have just got to put 100 percent into it,” he explained. “There's no point going onto the pitch and not trying to put in 100 percent every time, it doesn't matter what position I am playing I always try and put 100 percent. Sometimes I might not have the greatest of games but at least everyone can see I am always trying my hardest and I am trying to go in with the right attitude.”
