Emmanuel Fernandez Voted Into PFA Scotland Scottish Premiership Team of the Year

EMMANUEL Fernandez has been voted into the PFA Scotland Scottish Premiership Team of the Year.

The 24-year-old has been recognised by his fellow professionals in the top-flight for an outstanding campaign at the heart of the Rangers defence.

He has made 28 appearances in all competitions this campaign, and his excellent form was rewarded recently with an international debut for Nigeria.

Speaking after being voted in the selection, Fernandez commented: “I am delighted to be included in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year, and it means a lot to me.

“I have enjoyed my debut season with Rangers, and it has gone better than I ever dreamed it could.

“I would like to thank the gaffer and his coaching staff for believing and trusting in me, my teammates for all their support, as well as our amazing fans who have backed me since I joined the club.”

Rangers are also represented in the PFA Scotland League One Team of the Year through Under-19s winger Callum Burnside.

The 19-year-old has been recognised for his impressive campaign on loan at Alloa Athletic, where he has netted nine times and laid on three assists in his first full season in senior football.
