Daryl, who has Autism, is now 27 and loves nothing more than watching his beloved Rangers in action.
He is a regular contributor to our Disability Matters group and is also delighted to support our Everyone Anyone diversity and inclusion initiative.
Before Coronavirus, he would regularly attend matches at Ibrox and he formed a firm friendship with fellow supporter David Weir, who also has learning difficulties, from the moment they first met during their school days.
Both men played important roles in the early stages of the Everyone Anyone campaign, joining supporters of all ages and backgrounds at the stadium to take part in a photoshoot ahead of its high-profile media launch in July 2019, and they were both thrilled to play their part.
Daryl told us: “Everyone Anyone is a great initiative and I am so happy to be involved. It was nice to meet other supporters at the photoshoot and David and I are both very pleased with our pictures.
“I love Rangers and my first game was a 3-0 victory over Motherwell when I was 8.
“We have had so many great players at Rangers and I would say my favourites are Ally McCoist and Alfredo Morelos.
“He has played so well for Rangers since he joined and he has done so well in Europe too. We have had a lot of positive results in the Europa League in the last few years and Alfredo has scored a lot of goals in the competition.
“I was at the Rangers v Young Boys game at Ibrox last season and it was a great atmosphere. Alfredo scored that night too and although we ended up drawing the game 1-1 it was still a good one to watch.
“It was great to see Rangers qualify for the group stages again this season. Steven Gerrard has done a great job and we have had so many great European results since he joined.
“It has been a great start to the season and I definitely think we can win the league. Good luck to Steven Gerrard and all the players.”
