The 35-year-old, who is a call centre manager from the southside of Glasgow, was one of a number of supporters from a variety of backgrounds who took part in a photoshoot at Ibrox last summer.
His image has featured on club media channels, matchday programmes and the big screens at the stadium during matches and he was delighted to lend his support to such a worthy ad meaningful campaign.
James also has a strong association with the Rangers Charity Foundation, having raised funds by taking part in the Great Scottish Run, and he has praised the club for creating such a pioneering initiative.
He said: “I think the Everyone Anyone campaign has been a massive success and has truly emphasised that Rangers are a club for all and I have only heard wonderful things regarding this from everyone I speak to.
“Every fan who took part shares a love for Rangers and the campaign promotes important messages of tolerance and inclusion regardless of age, gender, religion or background.
”I have read a lot of the fan stories in this series and I also spoke to a few on the day we did the photoshoot and loved hearing about their love for Rangers.
“Everyone is from a different background but we all have the same passion for Glasgow Rangers.
“I was very happy and proud when I featured on the screens at Ibrox and in the matchday programme. My mum was in Spain last year and saw me on the screen at half time and shouted out ‘that’s my boy’ – ha ha.
“Everyone in my family wanted a copy of the programme too!
“I am also proud to support the Rangers Charity Foundation. I took up running about 8 years ago and I ran the Great Scottish Run half marathon and 10k several times on behalf of the Foundation. The staff there are all a credit to the club, they were in constant contact in preparation for every event I took part in – sending out vests for the race day etc, and to be invited to collect a Rangers True Blue Hero medal was an amazing experience.”
James has also applauded the club for launching a new Fans Charter, which is a code of conduct they must sign up to when buying season tickets and match tickets.
He continued: “We all want Rangers to be successful and there are so many highlights I have enjoyed down the years. Winning 9 in a Row when I was in second year at high school was a great memory, Especially when we won it and 95% of my school supported another team from Glasgow. It’s safe to say I was gloating for a while.
“Winning the title at Parkhead in 1999 was also a great memory – is there a better feeling winning the title at the home of your rival?
“And Helicopter Sunday at Easter Road was incredible. I don’t think any Rangers fan will ever forget this day
“We have also enjoyed some magical European nights – there is no other atmosphere like it.
“Brian Laudrup and Gazza were two of my favourite players. Both were world class and it was great to see them playing together in the same team.
“I also liked Barry Ferguson. He was a true captain through and through and always gave 100% He captained a Rangers team with some great players and still held his own
“Hopefully we can all get back to Ibrox to see games as soon as possible, Like many fans, I am still working from home but keeping in touch with people as much as we can. As long as everyone is safe that will always be the main thing.”
