The deal, which is subject to international clearance, will see the 21-year-old join Philippe Clement’s squad for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
In an exclusive interview with RangersTV, Silva said he was excited at the prospect of becoming a Rangers player and can’t wait to get started with his teammates.
He continued: “It is amazing, everyone knows I had other options and other clubs but when I saw the option of Rangers, I was very happy.
“It was my first option straight away because I want to win titles, to play at big clubs, to feel the pressure and to play in big competitions so I want to play for the fans and play with my teammates.
“This first-half of the season things haven't gone my way at Wolves but now with this opportunity I want to give everything here.”
Coming through the ranks at Porto, Silva played at Ibrox in the Europa League back in 2019. Despite defeat for his side that day, the striker remembers the Ibrox atmosphere as he looks forward to playing in front of the supporters.
Looking back on his first Ibrox experience, he said: “It was not so good for Porto because we lost the game, I was on the bench and I came on and the atmosphere was amazing, it was crazy.
“When I was on the bench, I was saying the atmosphere is unbelievable, the fans push the team to score and to attack so I felt the energy. Now I want to come here, and I hope they can put some energy into me because I like to feel the energy from the fans.
“I always try to work hard, to focus on myself and to be better every day. Now my focus is here, to help the team here, to train every day to help Rangers win things and I am very excited.
“I like to play with a lot of energy, I like to run and to fight for the team. I like to score some goals, of course it is important, but I like to assist too, and the most important thing is the team. I am focused on helping the team to win titles, win games and put in good performances.”
With the deal agreed ahead of the new year, Silva is hoping he can use the next few weeks to build relationships with his new teammates.
He continued: “Sometimes it is not easy, last season I went to PSV on the last days of January, so it was a little bit different.
“I tried to push to be here as early as possible because I think it is important to see the tactics, to understand the dynamics of the team and what the coach wants from me.
“I know in the winter break we will go to Spain to train and work a bit more with the coach and my teammates, so it is nice for me to go with the group as quickly as possible to help build the relationships.”
