The Light Blues are the only B team left in the competition as they host the League One side looking to book their place in the quarter-finals with a fixture against Queen’s Park awaiting the winner.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference, the youngster commented: “It is a massive opportunity, Stenhousemuir will bring a good crowd and it is the last 16 of the SPFL Trust Trophy so hopefully I just go out and do well, score a couple goals.
“They have had a good start to the season, Forthbank pitch is very good, we played there against Fraserburgh so it will be a good game.”
The midfielder has spoken of the different challenge of taking on seasoned pros that the competition brings for David McCallum’s side, but says it is one the team have to stand up too.
He continued: “Obviously it is a different challenge playing men. Boys my age it is good playing against but it us just the experience of playing against men as well.
“You will get that round at the first team is as well, just pushing getting my chance and playing against men is brilliant.
“I think we are able to cope with them, there is a good vibe in the dressing room right now.
“It is a cup game last 16 to get through to the quarter-finals so we are looking to win to get to that hopefully.”
The 17-year-old has been involved the Rangers first team squad on occasion this season having also been part of their pre-season camp, and he is hopeful of further opportunities to come at that level.
He added: “I went to Holland on pre-season, I have been on the bench a couple of times so it is just doing well in training first and then performing at B team and getting my chance round there.
“I have been at the club for so long now, 12 years, I think it is just obviously about pushing on.
“Being round at the first team is everything that I have dreamed off as a kid, supporting my boyhood club. It is just about keeping on performing for the B team and just push from there and hopefully get a chance.
“I am loving it, it is just about pushing on, scoring as many goals as I can and getting my numbers up and hopefully the manager recognises that and I get a chance soon.”
