The Light Blues welcome the Lanarkshire outfit to Dumbarton as they look to embark on a positive run in the cup competition.
Speaking to RangersTV on the eve of the match, Fraser says his side will look to impose their style of play in the match: “The boys are really excited. When we saw the draw come out, they’re a big team in the Scottish Championship. We want to put on a performance and get into the next round.
“We must go out and play our game. We feel that if we do that, we can beat any team. We know it will be a difficult and physical game because they’re a couple of leagues above us, but we’re Rangers players and we want to go and win the game.
“We really love these types of games, the one-off fixtures where if you lose then you’re out. It’s more important to get a result in the end and we’re really looking forward to it.”
The Gers can take encouragement from their run to the last eight of the competition last season, falling to defeat against eventual League One champions Cove Rangers after victory over Alloa Athletic.
Fraser insists his side can take confidence from their progress in the competition last term, although he admits that it’s the responsibility of the more senior players in the B Team group to instill belief throughout the squad.
He continued: “There’s always momentum. As soon as you’re off the back of one game, it’s recover and onto the next game. That’s what it’s like and the boys enjoy that.
“I got a taster [of the first team recently] and I’m the captain of the B Team so I need to get around the younger lads. We’ve got a big tie on Tuesday so we need to see what we’re about.
“We went on a good run last year. We got all the way to the quarter-finals and it was a tough tie where we fell short. It was a good experience and some of the lads are in it again this year, so we need to get around the young lads who haven’t had that exposure in this tournament. Hopefully we can go and progress further.”
