The 29-year-old marked his first start in Rangers colours in a little under a year, playing 60 minutes in a youthful Gers side which also included Bailey Rice, 13 years Lawrence’s junior.
Speaking to RangersTV, Fraser, who grabbed two excellent assists in the match, commented: “It’s brilliant. You can see the quality that they have when they come down, how they communicate and play the game. I linked up really well with Tom today and he scored a brilliant goal.
“It’s obviously nice to win first and foremost. I thought we weren’t at our best during stages in the game. We went through periods where they were on us and we couldn’t get a hold of the ball, but we also had spells where we were really good in possession and we showed what we were about.
“You need to have a reaction when you go behind, and I felt we did that at times. It’s obviously not good to fall behind and lose goals, but it was a good reaction from us and there were some good individual goals.”
Fraser turned provider on two occasions in the second half, delivering from the left for Ross McCausland and Cole McKinnon to convert.
He continued: “It’s my job to provide. I like to get into high positions and get crosses into the penalty box. For the first goal I just saw the play develop. Cole played a pass to me, I picked out Ross at the far post, and I’m just happy that he finished it. For the second goal I received the ball quite deep, and I saw Cole make the run. I stuck the ball in for him and he headed it home.
“I feel that I’m doing really well on an individual level. I’m pushing every day and I feel my performance levels have been very consistent. I need to keep my head down, keep working, and hopefully things work well for me in the future.”
