Early goals from Joe Aribo and a Jermain Defoe wonder goal secured the win for Gers to keep their positive run of form going – with Defoe’s incredible one-touch finish perhaps only just overshadowed by Kemar Roofe’s midweek effort in Liege.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time at Ibrox this afternoon, McAllister explained: "I have got to say, it has been a very positive week with three 2-0 wins in a row. But the thing which has really pleased me is we have seen two, very-high calibre, high-quality goals with Jermain's today and Roofe's the other night.
Gers were able to show the strength of their squad today by making five changes and still winning the game with a clean sheet.
McAllister continued: "That is the big thing. We have got people off the pitch today, we have given people minutes and we have been able to rest some more.
"So things are nice and positive - we have just got to keep pushing and pushing. It is a massive schedule but we have a good squad and we have a big squad.
"We have got to utilise it so things are in a good place at the moment."
Defoe’s goal was the 300th of his career, and on that, McAllister said: "They [Defoe’s and Roofe’s] are two very different goals - but I just loved the movement. Jermain since arriving here - we have always seen the quality.
"When he has got on the pitch and he has played games, he looks very, very dangerous. It's the cleverness of movement - he has been a classy player throughout his career in my view, and I just thought that was very typical of him today.
"The pass was superb, but the finish was sublime."
Calvin Bassey came into the side this afternoon after impressing from the bench in midweek, and McAllister was thrilled with his performance.
He added: "This is about players being competitive. It is a competitive squad and we have two players for every position.
"When you get an opportunity to go and grab the jersey, that is what the young fella has done.
"He has been really refreshing."
