The Manager and players recorded personal messages to young fans who are unfortunately in hospital at present and sent Rangers goodies and autographs. The Foundation also donated £10,000 to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
The donation funded Christmas decorations for the wards and is also supporting the charity’s Family Bereavement Service for families and NHS staff affected by the devastating loss of a child.
Rangers FC Academy players, Foundation and Club staff and volunteers also helped hang the decorations at the Hospital last month as part of the Foundation’s partnership with the charity.
Kirsten Watson, CEO, Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity commented: "We know just how special it is for children and families when the Rangers players visit, and we're looking forward to welcoming the club back to the hospital soon.
“While it's disappointing that the team visit can't take place this week due to the rising flu cases, the health of our young patients has to come first. We're incredibly grateful for the thoughtful video messages and gifts that the club has sent to lift their spirits.
"We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rangers Charity Foundation for their continued support with their generous donation of £10,000, which will make a lasting difference to children in hospital."
Rangers Captain James Tavernier commented: “It’s disappointing the visit had to be postponed because of rising flu cases. I know how special it is for the children and their families, but everyone’s health comes first.
“I want to wish all the kids all the very best this festive period and I hope we will be able to see them soon.”
