The 33-year-old, who has been at the club for five years, signed a contract extension today and admitted she would love to finish her career at the club.
Gemmell has been a key part of the Gers midfield in recent seasons, captaining the side for the past four years.
Speaking to RangersTV, she said: “I think it is really good, obviously it is a great opportunity.
“I’ve obviously been here for a number of years and I just like the set-up and the culture of the club.
“It has been really positive during my time here and it is only continuing to get better so it is definitely somewhere that I see myself finishing my career.”
Gemmell is relishing the opportunity to be involved in the new-look Gers squad and is delighted to see investment in the Women’s and Girls Programme.
She continued: “The changes have been massive from when I first came to the club, certainly more in the last year.
“This season they have really gone for it with the introduction of full-time players and it is only going to continue to improve.
“You see developments being made at other clubs as well so it is definitely a positive for the women’s game in Scotland.
“It’s given it a bigger profile, people who are maybe not so aware of the women’s game and maybe now they will begin to take notice of it and as I said hopefully push the game forward and maybe compete further in the champions league.”
With a number of new signings over the close season, Gemmell hopes the experience of winning silverware will help drive the Gers forward.
She added: “You can see that a lot of the girls are really driven and that they want to win things and I think it is important that you have people like that at the club to push everyone forward and make everyone better.
“Hopefully it is something that we will be able to do this season and going forward.
“It is something we want to embed in the club going forward is a winning mentality so it is definitely a positive.”
