Clean Sweep As Gers Pick Up PFA Awards

IT’S another awards double for Rangers Football Club, with captain James Tavernier and manager Steven Gerrard being named as PFA Scotland Player and Manager of the Year respectively.

It’s been a remarkable campaign for both, with Rangers becoming Invincible Champions yesterday, capping the first unbeaten season for the club in the modern era with a 4-0 defeat of Aberdeen at Ibrox ahead of lifting the Scottish Premiership trophy.

Captain Tavernier has netted a stunning 19 goals from right back – beating his own record for a Rangers defender while being the leader of this team which will go down in history given the manner in which they have claimed such an iconic title for the club.

Gerrard meanwhile, along with his backroom staff, has built an exciting, dynamic and relentless Rangers side who now have eyes on going from strength to strength from the successes of this season, with the opportunity of Champions League football there for the Light Blues in August.

In addition to the two main award winners, no less than EIGHT Rangers players have been named in the PFA Scotland, Scottish Premiership team of the season.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor, defenders Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic, midfielders Glen Kamara and Steven Davis, and attackers Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are all included in the side voted for by their fellow professionals in the division.
