Gerrard: Full Focus Now On Sunday

STEVEN Gerrard believes that his team must put their full focus on the game against Motherwell on Sunday at Ibrox.

The Light Blues host the Steelmen on flag day, and he wants his men to forget about the Europa League defeat to Lyon last night quickly.

He said: “Today is about picking the boys up and getting recovered.

“The Motherwell game will be here quickly. The games are thick and fast, I think that’s three games in six days, there’s no time to dwell, we need to move on fast.

“The fans deserve that moment of flag day; it is a moment for them all together. We respect this of course but for me, it is all about the three points at the weekend.”

Gerrard followed up by giving an update on the status of some players ahead of the weekend’s league game. He added: “Kent will be sent for a scan today.

“He will obviously be out for the weekend and could miss a few weeks, but we will know more this evening. Morelos has a tight hamstring and is a doubt for the weekend but is not an issue on Kent's level.

“Having everyone fit and available and in top form is the dream scenario, we haven't had a real settled squad so far this season with injuries and COVID to get some rhythm going but this is an issue we have to deal with.”
