STEVEN GERRARD praised the effort from his players as they picked up another three points with a 4-1 win over Dundee United this afternoon.
After some early opportunities for the visitors at Ibrox, Gerrard felt his side settled into the game and put themselves in a ‘very comfortable position’ with goals from Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, he said: “I am very happy with the result and the outcome of the game.
“Dundee United had a lot of energy and a lot of runners from midfield that caused us a few issues especially in the first 20 minutes.
“I think once we came to terms with that we settled into the game and we went on and got ourselves in a very comfortable position.
“We gave everything in Europe on Thursday and left it all on the pitch so I expected us to be a bit leggy but to get ourselves to 4-0 having worked the game out I am really pleased with the effort.”
Gerrard was full of praise for Man of the Match Joe Aribo as he put in another strong performance and topped it off with a superb second-half goal.
He continued: “It was a fantastic strike, he is really back now. He was out for a long time, it was his first injury in his career and he had an illness on the back of that so it took him quite some time to get right back in the groove.
“He was fantastic today, not just the goal but his running power, his quick feet and the way he outplays people. He is a fantastic kid, you can't get him off the training pitch, he's always working on his game.
“He decided to come to Rangers to develop and grow and he is certainly moving in the right direction. There's no surprise that he is getting a lot of good performances in his game right now.”
Ryan Jack was forced off with just 27 minutes on the clock, and Gerrard provided an update on the midfielder, he continued: “Hopefully we have got to the injury before it becomes an injury.
“He felt some tightness in his calf early in the game. He hasn't felt anything tear which is good but we are going to have to scan it and see what the damage is but fingers crossed he is not out because he is so important to us.
“Glen Kamara came on and looked absolutely top class again. He made us play more and he was a big factor in getting to 4-0 because he gave us a bit of class and a bit of style when he came on.”
