Gerrard Receives Special Achievement Award From LMA

STEVEN GERRARD has been presented with the Special Achievement Award from the League Managers Association.

The LMA Annual Awards were announced on Sky Sports’ Premier League channel tonight and Gerrard was recognised for guiding Rangers through their title-winning season in 2020/21 without losing a game in the Scottish Premiership.

The winner of the Special Achievement Award, sponsored by Prostate Cancer UK, is selected by members of the LMA board and the Light Blues boss is proud to be this year’s recipient after an incredible campaign, with his ‘Invincibles’ claiming 102 league points from 38 fixtures and scoring 92 goals, with just 13 conceded.

Gerrard said: “Firstly, I would like to thank the League Managers Association. To receive this award at the end of a memorable season is humbling and the success we have had at Rangers over the past 12 months has been a huge team effort.

“My backroom staff - and all the staff at the club - have worked tirelessly and the players have given me absolutely everything.

“In particular, my relationship with Douglas Park as Chairman, Ross Wilson as Sporting Director and the wider board has been a key ingredient of success.

“To go through the entire league season unbeaten says so much about their drive and determination, so the Special Achievement Award is for them as much as it is for me.”
