The Light Blues were on-top throughout and had a number of opportunities, but couldn’t find a way to goal, drawing 0-0.
Speaking to RangersTV, Gerrard said: "We are frustrated not to take maximum points as that is what we have come here to do - that was the intention to keep building on our good work and our good form.
"So I am pleased about that, but really disappointed that we didn't have enough creation or that bit of magic or someone in our armoury to find the answer which was to break through.
"We got in a lot of good areas, crossed the ball a lot but we just couldn't find that moment of quality.
"We nearly did with Borna and the free-kick. Alfredo has had a header at the back post that he normally does better with and Ryan [Kent] has had a decent half-chance, but I think over the course of the 90 minutes, we haven't created enough or tested their keeper enough.
"So we have ourselves to blame in terms of dropping two points.
"We got into the areas well enough but then you are relying on the talent you have got in the squad - the names and the big matchwinners in your squad to find the answers and we couldn't do that today."
At the other end, Gers were pretty-much untroubled, with Gerrard continuing: "Jon hasn't had a save to make, so from a defensive point of view and an organisation point of view, really, really good.
"From the side, we have tried to throw everything at it - it was only really Greg Stewart behind me that I maybe could have added to it.
"I think in any game you have got to defend well, you've got to be organaised and you've got to do the dirty work and the dirty bits and I think we did that.
"I look at Jon and I look at the back four. The full-backs got up and down and were crossing the ball and the two centre-midfielders had a lot of control.
"But when I look to the final third and the players who played in the final third from the beginning and the ones I added to it, we have got to find better quality and better relationships on the pitch to find the answers."
The Light Blues now have a rare, full week to prepare for the visit of Kilmarnock to Ibrox on Saturday.
The manager added: "We welcome that full week always as it gives us more time to improve on things that didn't go so well today which is a lot of final third stuff.
"We know Kilmarnock will be organised and we will have a similar challenge to today, and Hamilton will be the same.
"But we have two weeks to prepare for that now and we have a chance to get people up to speed.
"I am sure when the players analyse the game and look at themselves, they will be frustrated that they haven't found that moment because you need your big players to step up when games are tight and when teams are sitting up and getting a lot of men behind the ball.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't do that today."
