Speaking at today’s pre-match press conference at the Rangers Training Centre, the manager said: "Here at Rangers we try and win every game we face, and we will certainly do that in the six group games.
“When the draw was made I think it was an exciting group and all the teams we are going to come up against are going to have different strengths and provide a different challenge for us. But the plan was always to get off to a positive start and go to Liege and try to take maximum points.
“A good team are coming here, an aggressive team going forward with quality players, so we have to make sure the game plan is executed really well if are to have any idea of getting to six points."
Gerrard goes into the match against Lech with great competition for places in his team.
One player who has featured in recent wins over Standard Liege and Livingston on Sunday is Ianis Hagi and the manager, without giving away his starting eleven for tomorrow night, praised the Romanian playmaker – who has contributed eight assists and one goal this season - for his performances.
He added: "Ianis is in a good place. I think he is really settled here in Glasgow and I know his girlfriend is over now as well. So he's really coming into the place smiling and happy and enjoying his football.
“In the past we have had games and certain phases throughout our journey where we found it hard to break teams down. He is one tool in our armoury that is very effective and has been since the beginning of the season.
“It's my job to make sure that we try and keep him fresh and use him at the right times, because he is still young and he is still developing into a man. But in terms of the talent, we're delighted to have him and he can open the door at any given moment when you give him time and space.
“In terms of tomorrow, I won’t be giving anything away in terms of the eleven I'll decide to play, but Ianis Hagi is certainly in a good place."
