RANGERS were represented at last night’s PFA Scotland Awards, with players from both the men and women’s sides recognised for their individual successes this campaign.
Mikey Moore, who is enjoying a fantastic loan spell in Glasgow from English Premier League Tottenham, was named PFA Young Player of the Year in the Scottish Premiership for an impressive individual campaign, which has seen him excel since the appointment of Danny Röhl back in October.
Still only 18 years of age, he has been one of the team’s main attacking outlets throughout the season, operating in both the number 10 position and wide areas, scoring six goals throughout, whilst also providing three assists so far for his teammates.
Striker Youssef Chermiti was also handed the Goal of the Season award for that incredible Old Firm derby overhead kick on March 1 at Ibrox, a finish that will live long in the memory to those who witnessed it and stand on the long list of fantastic goals in the fixture to date.
On the women’s side, youngster May Cruft has been honoured for an outstanding first full season in professional football as she was named PFA Young Player of the Year in the SPWPL.
Just 16 years old and only signing on professional terms with the club last summer, the young midfielder has gone from strength to strength in the Rangers midfield. Thriving under the guidance of Leanne Crichton and becoming a real regular in the middle of the pitch for the Gers, most recently helping them into another Scottish Cup final with a win over Montrose at Hampden yesterday.
