The 25-year-old completed a season-long loan move from Bournemouth earlier this week as Russell Martin continues to build his squad ahead of the new campaign.
Here’s what Aarons had to say on his football journey, playing style, initiation songs and superstitions.
Where did football begin for you?
With my Sunday league team in Luton, and then I ended up signing for Luton Town at the age of eight. It was my dad, he took me down to the park from the earliest point I can remember, at five or six years old and I absolutely loved playing.
What was it like making the move from Luton Town into Norwich Academy?
It was good, it was a step I needed at the time, it was a bit of a change leaving home when I was 16. It was the first time I had done that, so it was a new experience but it was definitely a big part of kick-starting my career.
How would you describe your playing style in three words?
Tenacious, confident and well-rounded.
Who was your role model growing-up?
I was a Chelsea fan, so Frank Lampard was a big idol of mine, I absolutely loved him.
Do you have any pre-match rituals or superstitions?
It is a bit of a boring one, I just have two or three coffees before the game, but I have to have them. If it is an away game they can be difficult to get, I just have to find them somewhere.
I have had a few teammates who had unusual superstitions. Ben Godfrey at Norwich burned his hands before a game with hot water and it was an accident and he played really well, ever since then he carried on doing it!
What will your initiation song be?
I think the usual one that everyone goes for is something like Wonderwall, I don’t actually have one in mind. I’m going to try and get out of doing one if I am honest!
What motivates you in football?
I always remember why I started playing and the love I have for the game. I worked hard from the age of eight to get to this position and I want to keep going at the highest level possible for as long as possible, so that is what motivates me.
