Gio Delighted With Performance & Win

GIO van Bronckhorst was delighted with both Rangers’ performance and victory in this afternoon’s 4-0 defeat of St Johnstone.

The boss was thrilled to be able to rotate his squad both before and during the match, and with the hunger of his side to continue pushing for more goals.

He told RangersTV: "The most important thing was the three points. We played very well today and were very commanding.

"I'm just happy with the result and that I was able to change people in the second half, so overall it was a good performance from our side.

"It is very important as with the changes we made, we got fresh blood and more energy in difficult circumstances with the heat, but that is why we changed five players to keep pushing them to try to score goals, so I am really pleased about that.

"You want to have your players in position to create chances and score goals, and that is what we did today.

"I am happy with the result and I look forward to Tuesday."

On Tuesday, Gers will welcome PSV to Ibrox for their Champions League play-off, first-leg tie.

On that, the boss added: "We are ready. We have two days to prepare and make the players fresh again and make sure we have our game plan in mind and execute the game plan as best as possible.

"We have our normal preparations and that doesn't change. It is a big game for us.

"I expect both [Ryan Kent and James Sands] to be available for the game on Tuesday - it was a little bit too short for both and I think they will be back for Tuesday."
