The Gers boss hopes his squad enjoy the game and the challenge as they take to the field at Westfalenstadion tomorrow evening in the knockout stage play-off round of the competition.
Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference, he said: "As football players and as a manager you want to play against the best opposition possible in all competitions. Playing in the Europa League and playing against Borussia Dortmund are the games you want and that is why you work hard from when you are young.
"Everyone is excited and ready so we have to make sure we enjoy the game and that we are well prepared to try and win this tie. That is what you want in life and in football to have challenges, to face challenges and to overcome the challenges."
With the first-leg in front of a reduced capacity due to restrictions still in place in Germany, van Bronckhorst says it will not impact his squad as they aim to take a good result back to Ibrox next week.
He continued: "We have had games this season where we have played with less crowds but we are still facing a good team tomorrow so for me there is no difference - we just have to go out and perform.
"We want to have as good a result as possible to take back with us to Glasgow. We have the second game at home with full backing so the difference is there but the aim is the same to get the best result possible."
