GIO van Bronckhorst was pleased with the performance of Ridvan with the Turkish international handed a start in tonight’s 1-0 Premier Sports Cup victory over Dundee.
The full-back took the place of Borna Barisic in the back four, and pleased his boss with what he produced, while he was also delighted to see Kemar Roofe back in action.
The manager told RangersTV: "I think Ridvan's performance was good today. He is settling in really well and we needed to give him some more time to adjust and I think he is in a good place at the moment so I am happy with his performance that he could play 90 minutes today.
"[Kemar] has been out for a long time and is back now, so it was good also to give him minutes on the pitch.
"We needed to change some players today in comparison to Sunday to give them a little bit of rest because they needed it - all the games are coming really quickly now so I am happy we have everyone on board on Saturday again with no new injuries today and we have to prepare for the big games that are coming and, for sure, the performance needs to be better throughout the 90 minutes on Saturday."
The manager expressed his satisfaction at reaching the semi-final, and also gave his assessment on the overall performance.
He added: "We are in the semi-final and that is what we wanted before the game. We play Aberdeen now at Hampden in January so I think that is good for us.
"But I wasn't happy with the performance today, especially in the second half. I think we were, in the last half an hour, not playing well and could have had it more difficult.
"Dundee were pushing for the equaliser and I wasn't happy. I think we started the game well and controlled it in the first half, scored one goal and were pushing for the second goal and I think the last pass in the final third wasn't accurate enough to create any clear chances.
"I think only [Alfredo] Morelos had a good chance to score, and we started well in the second half but the last half hour, the performance wasn't good.
"It is good to be at Hampden as it means you are far in the cup tournament or playing finals, so we are happy that we are back to Hampden again in January to play Aberdeen, and have the chance to reach the final."
