The Light Blues carry a 3-0 lead into the tie following last week’s positive first leg at Ibrox, and van Bronckhorst wants his team to be dangerous from the start to progress to the next round.
Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference, he said: “You start over again; the game last week has been played and now we will play a new one. I think we just need to approach the game to have the best result tomorrow and don’t go in knowing the three-goal difference. We have to be there in the first minute and try to be dangerous, we just have to make sure that we stick to our tactical game plan and make sure that we do everything we can to get a positive result after the game.
“We are making sure that we go into the game really well prepared, we have quite an experienced side who have played many games in Europe in the last couple of years against strong opponents. In that way, we are well prepared, but as I said it starts all over, once the whistle goes, we have to be there and tomorrow won’t be any different.
“Our main objective tomorrow is to go through and to be in the next round of Europe, that’s very important for all of us. It will add two more games in April, but that’s what you want – you want to be involved in all competitions at the end of the season. That’s what you want as a player, a coach and as a club.”
The manager recognised the challenges that Dejan Stanković’s side will present in order to close the deficit tomorrow evening but says the squad will concentrate on the game.
He added: “It’s a challenge for us, to go out to a strong opponent in an atmosphere to get a good result, that’s a really big challenge for us. Some grounds are more difficult to go to than others, but this is one that we will definitely one of them that will be a great atmosphere tomorrow.
“We know we’re going to a place where the atmosphere can be very hostile, but that’s something that we need to cope with. We have quite an experienced team and we’ve been in places before where it’s been hostile, but we have to deal with it and make sure that you’re mentally prepared and just concentrate on the game – it will be a nice atmosphere to play in and we have to enjoy that as well.
“You have a view of a team that you are playing against because you watch their games, eventually when you play them yourself you have a much better view, and we can analyse that game very well to prepare the players. We’re going to play against a very good opponent and that won’t change.”
