The in-form Dons rolled into Glasgow full of confidence following a good recent run, but Gers were outstanding from start to finish, showing character, togetherness and some tremendous quality to come back from a goal down to win so convincingly.
Speaking afterwards to RangersTV, van Bronckhorst beamed: “It was very pleasing and it was a good win for us. It was a very dominant display and our overall play was really positive.
“We started aggressively, going forward every time we could, and it was very pleasing after we went behind 1-0 that we kept our same rhythm and created so many chances today to score goals.
“In the end, it was only four, we missed a penalty, but could have scored even more goals so I am really happy with our intentions today.”
Indeed, Gers had 70 per-cent possession and almost 40 shots on goal, and the boss continued: "It was there for the whole 90 minutes. We were very aggressive, very well organised and I think our structure was really good.
"We had our passing game really up to speed today from which we could get our dangerous strikers in positions where they could go one against one, create chances and I was really pleased with those movements.
"Of course, the three points was very important but I think the way we won the three points today was very positive.
"Of course, it gives you confidence because Aberdeen are a strong side who have won four out of their last five games in the league, and that shows they are a team with a lot of confidence.
"But today, they created a goal but after that I think they didn't create anything and we dominated the whole game."
There has been much said about the reaction from the crowd after recent home matches, but van Bronckhorst was keen to point out when both the players and crowd perform in unison as they did today, there are few places like Ibrox anywhere in football.
He added: "This is always a special [place to play]. Of course, there are moments where they will let your hear that the play isn't right, and of course those moments, we feel as well.
"But we want to create those moments in a positive way and I think today we did it from the first minute, and although we went behind, we kept positive, we kept going forward and we kept playing the way we should play and that gives a reaction to the crowd and then you get an atmosphere at home that only gives you confidence."
