GLEN Kamara this week put pen-to-paper on his new, long-term Rangers deal – something that made total sense to the midfield man.
The 25 year-old Finnish internationalist has become a critical part of Steven Gerrard’s side since his arrival from Dundee in January 2019, while also winning a place in the hearts of the Ibrox supporters.
Now, fully committed to the club until at least the middle of the decade, Kamara has his eyes set firmly on adding to the success he has had already as a team and also as an individual.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, he explained: "The stature of the club is massive and I have had a great time since I have come here and I have really enjoyed it.
"The fans, the manager, the players and the staff have all made me feel welcome and it just made sense to me and I am happy I have done it.
"I have gone on to play for my country loads of times and getting the opportunity to play in the likes of the Europa League has been great and lifting a title too.
"Hopefully, there are more to come. I wish the fans were in last year, but it was great and you could tell just how big a club this is [with the reaction].
"I think the fans remind you of that every day when you see them or see online. We just want to bring more silverware to this club and hopefully we can do that."
As well as being a key player for Rangers, Kamara has become integral to Finland as they enjoy the greatest period in their footballing history.
After qualifying for the Euros for the first time in the summer, they are well in contention to reach their first-ever World Cup in Qatar next year too.
Kamara continued: "We had never made a major tournament, and playing in the Euros was a great opportunity and a great experience in itself.
"Hopefully we can do well and get into the World Cup as well - that would be great."
Kamara is now hopefully approaching his peak years as a footballer, and he has a firm target to continue to improve.
He added: "I just need to keep on doing the basics and keep on working hard and have that hunger in myself.
"Hopefully, I can keep on pushing and become a better player."
