A 3-0 victory saw Gers through to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, with Goldson heading home a Borna Barisic corner late in the first-half to open the scoring.
The defender praised the Championship side for their organised display but was delighted the Light Blues could find the solutions to progress in the cup.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “It wasn't easy, they came and defended deep, I don't think they had many chances in the game, so we were comfortable defensively but offensively they had a lot of numbers in and around the box.
“It was hard to break them down and I thought they did a good job defensively but in the end, we managed to get three goals and win the game.
“It is important we are a threat from set-pieces, especially in games where it is hard to break the opposition down. Personally, I wanted to score more goals this season so thankfully in the last week I have managed to get two.
“We started trying to force a few things because the goal hadn't come so it was definitely important to get the first goal before half-time.”
Reflecting on a week which has saw Gers defeat Kilmarnock and Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership before this afternoon’s 3-0 victory, Goldson added: “It has been a good week, the week before was really disappointing and we had a challenge to bounce back from that.
“We know at this football club you are expected to win so it has been a good week. It hasn't been easy, two teams at home and the trip to Easter Road but we have managed to come out with three wins which is always important.
“We are into another semi-final and we need to go on and make that into a final and then win this competition.”
