Gers host City, who top SWPL1 with a 100 per-cent record from their 12 matches so far, this Sunday at the Hummel Training Centre, with the match kicking-off at 2.30pm.
The Light Blues fell to an 8-0 reverse to the 12-in-a-row league champions earlier this season, but Vignal, having now settled into his role as head coach fully, believes his side can pose City so many more problems this time around.
“The girls, I think, are stronger physically, mentally, technically and tactically,” he told RangersTV. “They have worked hard in the last eight weeks. But you need to understand the girls are working as well – they are part-time players, so it is quite a big demand for me.
“This is my job to show them I am ready, and I will try to give them everything every single day to ensure they are happy and they want to play for this football club.
“You have to believe you can win this game and you have to believe you are ready to play against a good team and you are ready to perform really well at home.
“We will play our philosophy, our shape and we will be brave. I like to play attacking football and it will be the same on Sunday – not because we are playing Glasgow City will we stop playing. We will keep going and we will make sure we are ready as it is important for next year.”
Vignal is hoping, with there being no men’s first-team game this weekend, that the Rangers fans will turn out in their numbers to support his side on Sunday.
He continued: “Hopefully we get a good crowd, and I will invite all the fans to come and support us at the training ground. The facilities are amazing and it is such an improvement for the football club.
“If they come they will support the girls 100 per-cent.”
And, on team news, the coach added: “The squad looks good, but the only problem I have right now is the goalkeepers’ position. Unfortunately, Khym [Ramsay] was injured against Liverpool, and she is an experienced goalkeeper who has been amazing since the start of the season.
“It’s the only problem I have right now and everyone else will be ready for the weekend.”
