The Romanian attacker was speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game away to Standard Liege, with Gers looking to continue their strong form in the tournament.
For Hagi too, he is desperate to again perform on the continental stage, and said: "The desire was big to play again in European competition. Feeling what I felt last season playing in the Champions League and the Europa League, coming into this season, it was one of my personal objectives to be in European competition.
"So I am really excited.
"We are in this group with the same mentality to win games and try to get out of the group and to try and go as far as possible."
Hagi, naturally, was disappointed to miss out on Saturday’s Old Firm game – but he isn’t letting that bother him and continued: "The motivation is there every single day and just trying to get better every single day and in every single game to deliver for the team.
"Obviously, when I signed here, I was looking forward to playing in an Old Firm game, it just didn't happen this weekend.
"There will still be other Old Firm games this season, and hopefully, I will be fit and prepared to play in one."

He was also quizzed on the differences between Scottish and Belgian football, having played for Genk last season.
He added: "Playing for Rangers, every game, you have to win, you have to attack and you have to score goals.
"In Belgium, the league is maybe more balanced between the teams, but the pressure and the mentality Rangers has is different to the one I met in Genk.
"Obviously, it is much harder to deliver, but I always loved and dreamed of playing for a team like Rangers where you have to win every single game - domestic or European, you just have to go out there and deliver.
"It is something I wished for and here I am."
