The Light Blues edged past Partick Thistle in their last SWPL outing with a 1-0 win as they now get ready to head on the road in search of back-to-back league victories.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the match the defender feels there have been good signs in their showings so far this season but says she wants the team to show the improvements that have been making on the pitch this Sunday.
She said: “I think it will be similar to the weekend, they will try and frustrate us, they will come with a good game plan and probably sit in a little. It will be up to us to try and break them down and find ways around that and hopefully we can be clinical and again keep a clean sheet.
“It is just about being a bit more patient at times, the main thing is we are coming into every training week with main points that we want to focus on for the weekend. We show good signs of taking that on in training, it is actually then using that in a game and not forgetting what we have been working on all week. Jo has really stressed that this week, it is important that everything we are working on during the week we are actually showing it on a Sunday.
“There is games and moments where we have looked really good, then there is points where we have not been as good. It is just a case of keep working on things, keep analysing games and learning as we go. The more we see the footage of where things have wrong it gives us the opportunities to learn as well.”
The Gers have opted for a three at the back system at times this season and the defender feels the side are still adapting to the new style but says their first clean sheet of the season shows they are learning and moving in the right direction.
She continued: “I think that is maybe part of the reason why there has not been clean sheets, but at the weekend we have started to realise why we have not been keeping them. Jo has been great with us in terms of showing us the areas we need to improve on, especially in transitions. That is something at the weekend that we really improved on, it is just the learning process. It is not going to click straight away but it has definitely been something that we have all been enjoying learning.”
The 29-year-old admits the demands of a three-game week at this stage of the season can be testing but says the matches have given several youngsters opportunities to impress in the games given injuries within the squad.
She added: “They can be tough; the toughest thing is how early on in the season they have come. We have obviously got a couple of injuries at the moment so it is asking more of the players who are fit to play a bit more. We are professional footballers; we are training everyday so that shouldn't be an issue for us. It is up to us to make sure we are bringing the standards for every game even at the end of the three-game week as well.”
“The good thing is with the injuries we have had to maybe the more senior players it has gave the opportunity to younger players to step up and probably get more game time than they might have expected at this point in the season. I think all the younger players have done really well when they have come in and for them they have got to be hungry for moments on the pitch and minutes. The good thing about that is when they do get on they are willing to press and I think you can see that”
