The striker said it was a ‘collective effort’ as a 2-0 victory over Hibernian at Tynecastle secured a first domestic cup for Rangers.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, she said: “We work really hard day in day out at the training centre and the staff as well. They put so much time and effort into preparing training sessions, gym sessions and making sure that we are looked after so it is a real collective effort and one we have worked really hard for.
“I think there's so much more to come from this group as well. We just need to keep working hard and putting in the effort in training and you see we get the rewards.”
It was a fantastic cup run for Howat, as her second-half strike in the final saw her finish top goalscorer in the competition with six goals in four games.
She was delighted to be part of an historic afternoon for the club, Howat continued: “I was delighted when I was given the nod, I just wanted to make as big an impact as I could. I felt good coming on and I got a couple of shots away and managed to put one in the back of the net.
“I actually forgot about being top goalscorer until one of the girls said there, that is my job as a striker. It is a bit cliche, but it is my role to go and score goals but to be able to score six in the competition and come out as the top goalscorer is great.”
