The left-back joked in a BT Sport interview that he already had a Gers goal, a free-kick that was credited to Connor Goldson, away to St Joseph’s in the Europa League.
There was no chance anyone could take Barisic’s stunning 59th minute effort away from him this time though and it continued Rangers winning start to the Premiership season.
The 26-year-old has struggled for game time in recent weeks with Jon Flanagan fit once again but he returned to Steven Gerrard’s starting XI for the trip to Paisley, as the Light Blues made five changes from their midweek draw with Legia Warsaw.
Speaking to RangersTV the 26-year-old said:
“It was difficult, especially because of the weather and wherever we can we want to play one hundred percent so it is never easy but the most important thing is winning and we did that.
“I am a professional player and of course I will never be happy when I don’t play but I am always ready when the boss says I play.”
After securing Sunday’s victory Rangers’ focus now moves to qualifying for the group stages of the Europa Legaue on Thursday evening before Celtic visit Ibrox for the first time this season.
Barisic must complete a huge week with his club and then fly straight to join up with his national side for Euro 2020 Qualifiers.
He continued: “It means a lot to me to play for my country; we have tough games against Slovakia and Azerbaijan away.
“I am very happy because playing teams like Legia and then Celtic, they are the biggest games.
“At Rangers every game is big, you always go to win, that is the mentality we have and I think this week will be very good for us.”
