The 19-year-old has been troubled by injuries over the last few seasons, but made his return to the pitch for the Development Squad on Tuesday against Partick Thistle, before featuring in this afternoon’s 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “I am just really enjoying playing again, every time I get the chance to play again I just love it and I am just trying to improve every session and every game that I get.
“I played 45 against Thistle and then 60 today so hopefully the next one will be 75 or 90 minutes and just push on.
Thomson was frustrated as the Gers lost an 84th minute goal in a 1-0 defeat in this afternoon’s friendly at Balmoral Stadium.
He continued:
“The message at half-time was to continue doing what we are doing because a lot of our stuff in the first half was really good, and we just had to tidy up on a few things.
“It is pretty gutting because we did have a lot of possession and a lot of the play and if we just switch off for a moment it can cost us like that.”
