The 18-year-old has trained regularly with the first-team this campaign and featured in several matchday squads under Barry Ferguson.
“I’m originally from Dunblane in Stirling,” Hutton reflected. “I grew up there when I was younger.
“I actually grew up right beside Andy Murray’s tennis courts.
“My mum and dad had a flat there, then they decided to move to Menstrie just off the back of Stirling.
“I was there for eight or nine years, and I now stay in Larbert.
“My first boys club was Milton. I used to play a year up.
“We used to have a team where we all knew each other and we bonded together.
“We used to beat quite a lot of teams when we were younger, so we had a good wee side.
“I first got into football when I was about four-years-old.
“As soon as I could have a ball at my feet, I had one at my feet. I actually hated it at first and I was always crying to my dad.
“I was coming to the side telling him that I didn’t want to do it, but over time I began to love it.”
Hutton recalls the moment he learned of Rangers’ interest as a 12-year-old.
It was a no brainer for the youngster, who had grown up as a boyhood Gers fan and jumped at the chance to pull on the jersey.
He added: “I was at Forth Valley, but that shut down.
“I had a few phone calls from other clubs, but as soon as I heard Rangers then it was the only club that I wanted to be at.
“I joined Rangers in 2018. I was in for a week's trial and it was in the indoor hall at the Rangers Training Centre.
Hutton represented Scotland at youth level and made the transition to the full-time Under-18s programme in 2022.
Since then, the defender has enjoyed regular first-team training exposure and, most recently, featured on the substitutes bench in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash against Athletic Club.
Continuing, Hutton commented: “I’m a right-back and try to get up and down the pitch as quickly as possible.
“In the attacking phase I try to support the game.
“As a full-back you can chop and change. With the way that the game is being played, you can come into midfield or switch with different players around the pitch.
“It’s a lot more functional and I’m able to move around.
“When I was younger, I was a midfielder. It’s the classic one of moving from midfield to full-back.”
Hutton was involved for a young Gers side which lifted the Glasgow Cup in December.
His development has also been enhanced by the side’s run to the last eight of the SPFL Trust Trophy earlier this season, while he has featured as Stevie Smith’s side have reached the Glasgow Cup final once again.
He added: “My best attribute as a right-back is getting up and down the pitch. I want to bully my opponent into running them into the ground.
“And, also just supporting play in every way possible.
“Defensively, I feel that I’m good one-versus-one and stopping wingers getting down my side of the pitch and crosses into the penalty area.
“An attribute that I’m keen to develop into my game is goals and assists. Nowadays, as a full-back, it’s quite important. I’d like to add more numbers to my game.”
