Rangers International Preview

THE season isn’t over yet for a number of Rangers first-team players who will be featuring for their various international teams in some huge matches in the coming weeks. Here’s our preview of who’s away and where…

John Souttar - Scotland

Fresh from officially becoming a Ranger today, John will be hoping to be involved in an enormous match for Scotland as they take on Ukraine at Hampden in a World Cup play-off semi-final.

Victory for the Scots will take them through to a winner takes-all-clash with Wales in Cardiff on Sunday with a place in Qatar in November at stake.

Following that, the Scots play three UEFA Nations League matches at home to Armenia next Wednesday, away to Ireland on June 11 and then away to Armenia on June 14.

Aaron Ramsey – Wales

Wales kick-off their Nations League A campaign away to Poland tonight, before they take on one of either Scotland or Ukraine in Cardiff on Sunday evening for a place in the World Cup.

Following that, they host the Dutch and the Belgians in the Nations League on June 8 and June 11 respectively before rounding off away to the Netherlands on June 14.

Steven Davis & Charlie McCann – Northern Ireland

Fresh from agreeing a further year at Rangers, Steven Davis will be joined in the Northern Ireland squad by Charlie McCann for the first time, the youngster having impressed in his contributions to the Rangers first team in the latter part of the campaign.

They begin their Nations League C campaign at home to Greece tomorrow night before traveling to Cyprus on Sunday, Kosovo next Thursday and then round off back in Belfast against the Cypriots next Sunday.

Borna Barisic – Croatia

Croatia get their League A Nations League campaign underway with four fantastic matches. They host Austria on Saturday, France on Monday before travelling to Denmark next Friday and round off away to the French on Monday week.

Glen Kamara – Finland

Finland begin their Nations League B matches at home to Bosnia on Saturday. They then follow that with a home clash against Montenegro on Tuesday, an away match at Romania next Saturday and round off on Tuesday, June 14 away to Bosnia.

Calvin Bassey & Joe Aribo – Nigeria

Nigeria began their international matches with a 2-1 defeat to Mexico, where Calvin Bassey provided a great assist for their equaliser on the night.

They then have a friendly with Ecuador on early Friday morning (UK) in Harrison, New Jersey, before two African Cup of Nations qualifiers at home to Sierra Leone on 9 June and then away to Mauritius on 13 June.

Fashion’s Zambia will also get their AFCON campaign up and running with matches against the Ivory Coast away on Friday, before hosting Comoros on Tuesday.
