The striker, who joined from Chelsea in February, says confidence is high in the squad after progressing against Young Boys last month.
He said: “I think all the boys are buzzing to be in the competition and we have already shown what we can do.
“They weren’t a joke team, and we have gone over there and got a result and got a result at home so all the boys are buzzing to progress and try and get as far as we can.”
Young-Coombes is expecting another tough test on Wednesday night against Slovan Bratislava at Firhill.
He added: “We are expecting a physical game, we have seen it in the analysis already that they are quite big boys and that they will be quite physical.
“We are a confident team and we don’t expect anything less than going through and going far in this competition.”
At just 16-years-old, Young-Coombes has been a regular part of the Development squad featuring at Solihull and Ballymena in the Challenge Cup.
He says he tries not to concentrate on the age difference, as he comes up against much older opponents.
He explained: “I try not to focus on the age because you can get a mental blockage of am I good enough and all that kind of stuff.
“In this team there are good players left, right and centre so it is exciting to be in and around players like that.
With over 900 Gers fans at Firhill for the first round tie, Young-Coombes is hoping for more backing on Wednesday night.
He added: “We as a team hold a huge responsibility of playing in front of a big crowd.
Fans can pay at the gate on Wednesday night with admission costing £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Kick-off at Firhill is 7pm.
