It's A Proud Feeling To Be Back

GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst says it is a ‘proud feeling’ to be back at Rangers as the new manager after addressing the press for the first time today at Ibrox.

The 17th Rangers manager spoke to the media this afternoon and emphasised his aim to bring success to the club as well as expressing his delight to be back at the club as the new boss and insisting that it was an easy decision to return.

He said: “I’m very proud, I signed for this club in 1998 and to be back now as the manager is a very proud feeling.

"It was a beautiful time as a player and it’s good to be back now as the manager, to be back in Glasgow and involved with everyone working at the club made the feeling even more special.

“When we first had contact about the job, it was quite easy for me because I know the club and how big Rangers is.

"For me, there wasn’t an issue about taking over this job. I was confident I would have the job because it is a club I want to lead and bring success to.”

The Rangers boss outlined his excitement to begin his role with the players in training on Tuesday and insisted that working hard is the key to success.

He added: “It starts from working, if you work hard and have the qualities, we’ll make it easier to win games.

"I’m a coach who is strict, I like discipline I think that it’s important for the way you behave and play on the pitch.

“It’s a new beginning for them, I’m a coach who will give confidence to everyone. Players need to be playing at 100%, no matter if you are young or old – if you’re good enough for me, you can play. In that aspect, I think that it is a new beginning for all of us.”
