The midfield man recognised the importance of fixture as the league nears the end of the season and emphasised the squad are fully focussed to deliver a positive performance in front of the home support.
Speaking to the press ahead of the weekend’s game, he said: “We know that it’s going to be a tough game, there’s been a lot made around the game and we know the situation that we are in the league. We know that it’s going to be a big match, but we’re in front of our own fans at our stadium and it’s important that we go put on a show and show how much we want to fight from now until the end of the season.
“We know where we are in the league, we know that on Sunday it’s important that we leave everything on the pitch. Win, lose or draw the main objective throughout the season is that we will never give up or stop fighting – we want to go out and win the game and we’ll do everything that we can to make sure that we send our fans home happy.
“We know what our fans bring, especially on European nights and Old Firm games, we know come Sunday that the stadium is going to be rocking. We’re going to have the full stadium right behind us and pushing us all the way, it’s important that we start the game properly and use the crowd to our advantage – hopefully come Sunday, we can make it a special day for us all.”
Jack looked ahead to a jam-packed month of matches in April and insisted the squad want to win every game during this schedule.
He added: “The feeling is that it’s a huge month with a lot of games coming thick and fast, we’ve got the league, Europa games and the Scottish Cup to throw in the mix as well – it’s a huge month for us as players, staff and the club. For us, we just need to give everything, and we’ll fight for every point for every match that we go into. It’s important that we focus on Sunday and take each game that comes throughout the month.
“We want to win every game, it doesn’t matter who we play, whether it’s in the league or in Europe. We just go about our business every day and train as well as you can, the pressure is more for the outside noise – it’s important that what we need to focus on is all in house.”
The Rangers number eight also reflected on his return from injury after missing some time with the team earlier this season and praised the staff that assisted with his recovery.
He continued: “The staff behind the scenes at the club have done excellent with me to get me to place I’m at just now, the work behind the scenes won’t change behind games and training. For me, it’s just to keep doing what I’m doing because I’m in a good place and hopefully that will keep me on for the remainder of the season.
“When the manager first came in, I was in and out of being injured and hadn’t played much, so he probably hadn’t seen too much of me when he first took over. Since he came in, I’ve tried to work hard and do everything right on the training pitch to stay in his mind and thoughts, he’s told me how much he believes in me and what he expects of me going forward – it’s now for me to take that on board and try and step-up and put-on performances.”
