Following Wednesday evening’s UEFA Champions League play-off defeat to PSV Eindhoven, the midfielder insists it is important the squad stick together ahead of a huge weekend in the Scottish Premiership.
Sitting down with the media at this afternoon’s press conference, Jack said: “We have to stick tight as a group and stay together. On the back of a bad result there's always going to be criticism that is what comes with playing at a club this size but there's no better game for us to go and respond and show we are a good team.
“It is obviously a massive game for us this weekend to go and achieve three points in the league and put a marker in the first Old Firm.
“Three points this weekend would put us in a good position heading into the international break. We will focus on this game, reset over the international break and come back and see what comes after the break.”
Jack is expecting an electric atmosphere at Ibrox on Sunday and hopes the players can use that to their advantage but knows they must also stay focused for the 90 minutes.
He continued: “It is going to be electric, it is going to be a quick fast-paced as always in these games and the atmosphere is going to be bouncing so it is important that we stay focused.
“As much as you want to play with that fire and you always have to have that side to you, it is important to stay calm and focus on the game plan and be around each other.
“We know what our fans will bring at the weekend. It is important we use that to our advantage. It is important we come out quick and that is the least our fans will demand that we run hard, we put our bodies on the line and we tackle.
“That is a given so come the weekend we have to show that side to our game and then I believe we have got the ability and the capabilities to go and hurt Celtic and win the match.”
When asked about the threat Celtic may pose at the weekend, Jack insists it is important Rangers focus on their own game plan as they look to continue their positive form in the league.
He added: “They play a different style, have some different personnel in players and maybe in their starting XI but we are just trying to focus on ourselves.
“We had a disappointing start at Rugby Park, it wasn't how we wanted to start the league off but we bounced back well, we have looked strong, scored goals and not conceded many so we go into this on good form in the league and we want to continue it.
“Wednesday night was hugely disappointing for us, we wanted to go and try and get Champions League football for the club, for the fans, for ourselves but it wasn't to be. It is important that we park that now, it is not going to do us any favours taking that hangover into the weekend. It is a different competition, so we just have to park that and move on and focus on this game because it is a massive game for us.”
