The young Gers ran out 4-3 winners in a thrilling contest against Luton Town, holding off a second half fightback from the English side after netting four times in the opening period.
Wyllie marshalled the backline for the Light Blues and, although he was disappointed not to secure a clean sheet, he was pleased at the resilience of the side.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, the 17-year-old commented: "I'm a ball playing central defender who likes to step in to midfield.
"I like to play diagonal passes and I want to bully strikers. Clean sheets are always good, but unfortunately we didn't get it today.
"On the performance? I thought we were more dominant in the first half. They scored early, but we reacted and played quite well.
"We scored the first then just continued on.
"They changed their shape in the second half and put a bit more pressure on us by going man-to-man. They scored twice, but we managed to see the game out."
Wyllie donned the captain's armband for the victory and was a commanding presence at the back with his ability to read the game.
The teenager also says it was a pleasure to play alongside the relatively more experienced players in the team – chiefly Findlay Curtis, Zander Hutton and Paul Nsio - who helped the side through the game.
He added: "Players know that they have my back, and I'm a central defender so I can see the whole game.
"I'm able to give them communication from the back and help everyone out.
"[Those players] have experience with the first-team now.
"They can bring it down to us and we can build onto the tempo that they play at."
