Murphy made a lively impact on the game – this being his first back since his successful spell on-loan at Burton Albion last season.

"It was good to get back out and play some football. The world has had a tough time of it being in lockdown so it was good to get back out and get playing."
On being back in a Rangers shirt again after his loan spell with Burton Albion last season:
"It was enjoyable. You always want to be here and you always want to play here, so to get back out there and start with a win was all good ."
What he thought of his own performance on the day:
"You always look at yourself first before everything, but we won the game and even though it's a pre-season friendly, you want to go out and win and try to contribute.
"Hopefully I did that."
How pre-season has gone so far from his perspective:
"The boys have been doing everything that has been asked of them so far - it is still a work-in-progress and we have another few weeks before the first game to work at it."
How much he and the squad are relishing next week's tests at Trophee Veolia against Lyon and Nice:
"It is up to us to go out and put on a good performance. The games will be televised for the fans to watch too so we need to put on a show for them."
