The 34-year-old has been in fine goalscoring fettle since returning from a lengthy knee injury this season and she has marked her comeback to the international stage with a place in the squad for the upcoming Pinatar Cup.
Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox, the forward commented: “It is a huge honour; it is always massive to get selected for your national team, so it is special for me and I am very much looking forward to that.
“I am just first and foremost really enjoying being back, to be honest. I spent a lot of time off the pitch watching from the sidelines in the last 17 months.
“I feel like I have still kind of been building and getting back to becoming the player that I was before, it just takes a little bit of time to get there.
“I feel in recent weeks that I am starting to find that form, but I had a lot of time to reflect on my game and to make small adjustments. I have also just kept a lot of what I was doing before.”
Ross will be keen to continue her goalscoring exploits in Sunday’s Old Firm clash, which marks a return to Ibrox for Jo Potter’s side this campaign.
The Gers are unbeaten in all competitions this term and have been victorious in their previous two meetings with their city rivals.
The Light Blues also ran out 7-0 winners over Hibernian in their previous Govan outing earlier this campaign.
Ross continued: “It is a big occasion; playing at Ibrox is massive for us as players so we are all very much looking forward to it.
“We are just preparing the same as we would for every other week.
“Scoring the winning goal? I mean that would be the dream, but I think first and foremost for me it is about the team performance on Sunday and obviously getting the win regardless of who puts the ball in the net.”
