JAY BRADFORD says she ‘jumped’ at the opportunity to link up with Jo Potter once again after being named Rangers’ new assistant coach.
The duo worked together at Coventry City and will join up for a second time as part of the coaching staff of the women’s side.
Speaking to RangersTV following her appointment Bradford hopes the two are able to combine well in the upcoming campaign to bring success to the team moving forward.
She said: “I jumped at the chance to work with her again, we have worked together and known each other a long time, the qualities that we both bring we complement each other; the players will hopefully see that and the fans should as well.
The assistant feels her experience working in both her new role and as a head coach at her previous clubs will be vital in what she hopes to bring to the Light Blues.
She continued: “It is massive, having been a head coach I know what is to come and hopefully I can support Jo in that, but also I have been an assistant so I also know what a good assistant looks like as well, combing Jo and I at this point and at this club I think it is going to be a really positive thing.”
Bradford has been impressed by the squad and overall setup in her short time spent in Glasgow so far and says she is looking forward to the competitive fixtures returning with the Gers beginning their league campaign on August 13 away to Spartans.
She added: “The facilities are second to none, it feels very homely, which is easy to say but there is a lot of clubs that haven't embedded their women as successfully as Rangers have.
“The players are really good, have really good quality, they have the will to work hard which is important and it is not always a given, so I have been really impressed with the players and they have been really welcoming, I am looking forward to our first fixture.”
