JAYDEN Meghoma insists he is enjoying the competition for the left-back position as he looks to play a crucial part in the final weeks of the Scottish Premiership.
The 19-year-old joined the club on loan from Brentford in the summer and enjoyed a consistent run in the team prior to the arrival of Tuur Rommens in January. With Rommens out of the squad through injury, Meghoma is relishing the opportunity to return to the team.
Speaking to the media ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Falkirk, he said: “Every game is exciting for us, and it is another opportunity to get three points and push for the title.
“Healthy competition is always important, for myself and for Tuur, so I have enjoyed it because it pushes a different side of you; it has all been a learning experience.
“I think you can always pick up things from other players, and Tuur is obviously one of those, as he plays in a similar position to me, so you learn things that he does from his past experiences, and you look at what other players are doing around the team to aid your game. Over the season, a lot of players have helped me with learning new things here and there.
Rangers drew 1-1 with Falkirk in October, in what was Russell Martin’s final game in charge, and Meghoma believes the team have improved in so many ways since that afternoon.
He added: “We don’t have very fond memories of the last time there, but it is all in the past now, we are a completely different side, and we have improved in so many ways. We are confident and ready for Falkirk this weekend.
On the impact of Danny Röhl, he continued: “He has been instrumental; he has changed things for all of us. You can see it in the group, you can see it with the fans and for us it is about pushing on. He has really helped us get into this position. From where we were to now, it is phenomenal.”
