Jenna Fife: We Need To Be On Top Of Our Game

JENNA FIFE believes Rangers will need to be on top of their game as they prepare for Sunday’s SWPL match against Spartans.

The goalkeeper hopes Gers can take confidence from last weekend’s 6-0 victory over Hearts and build on that as they head into a busy schedule of fixtures.

Speaking to RangersTV she said: “We will take full confidence from scoring six goals at the weekend. Spartans are coming off the back of a very good result against Hibs so they will be coming into the game full of confidence as well.

“We are expecting a competitive game and a very tough game. They are in the same situation as us. They got three points and a clean sheet last weekend so I know they will be a very tough team to break down.

“We experienced that the last time we played them so we need to be on top of our game and I'm sure we will be in order to get three points.

“We need to try and control the game, I think we did that the last time against them but they have their threats and they have a bit of pace up top so we need to nullify that.”

Fife has enjoyed getting back on the pitch and feels training regularly with Megan Cunningham can only help get the best out of both goalkeepers.

She continued: “It has been brilliant, we all love playing football and that is why we are here so to get back in full-time and be back in with the girls and play competitive games again is great.

“The squad depth we have got is unbelievable and every player is pushing every session for a starting place and that is the way it has got to be at the top level like this.

“Megan is a very very good goalkeeper and I love training with her because we push each other and it only makes both of us get better.

“I worked with her previously in Scotland squads and I know how good she is so it keeps me on top of my game. I push her and she pushes me and that is brilliant.

“We have that competitive edge of course we do, but we love training with each other and the vibes are brilliant and that's why I love coming in here and training with her every day.”
