The former England international will get down to work when pre-season gets underway next week as the Gers look wrestle back the Scottish Women’s Premier League title.
Speaking to RangersTV for the first time since she arrived at the club, Potter commented: “From minute one, when I spoke to people involved in the club, I got such a good feel about it. It’s all about people, connecting, working with really good people, and having that family feel. That is something that really attracts me.
“The club wants to move forward, win things, and it’s hungry to just be the best. That matches my ambition. I want to be the best at what I do and make the players the best in order to win trophies for this club. I feel that our ambitions and forward way of thinking are matched.
“It’s important, coming as a new Head Coach and a different style of play, that we set that out early. It’s something that I’m keen to put in place early in pre-season, marrying up those physical aspects with the technical and tactical. We’re well underway in the planning process. It’s something that I’m excited about it, and it’s massively important the players see a different way of playing, buy into that, and really push on.”
The Rangers supporters showed incredible backing last season as the Light Blues competed at Broadwood Stadium, and Potter believes the support from the stands will be crucial as her side look to deliver consistent success.
She added: “The supporters are massive. They add something to this squad without doubt. The players really feel connected to the fans, especially in the women’s game.
“We’ll make sure that we’re there every single week and playing for the badge. The fans turning up and showing their support just spurs us on even more, and it’s vitally important for us to go on and win silverware this year.”
